A year later, in June 2024, the State government announced a grant of $1.1 million to fund the restoration process.
Two are on the west side of the main road as it travels up the mountain, and the other area, is out on Barringo road, not far past the Sanatoruim Picnic Ground. These areas will need care and attention of the local community if they are to return to a healthy native ecosystem.
On December 8, as part of International Mountain Day we are having a community end of year gathering on top of the mountain, to continue to get to know these areas of the mountain. We’ll walk and then have a barbie. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a drink and we'll bring the rest. Book here.
